Phallic Colliders and other Amusements

Last night, we had the best freudian slip student mistake in class. I had been asking the students to come up with interesting topics, in groups, and there is a group of nice geeky young men at the back. One of them volunteered that he thought a good topic would be the Large Hardon (sic) Collider and whether it was really going to blow up the world.

I shall send him a link from [livejournal.com profile] beable this morning which relates directly to the question has the large hadron collider destroyed the world yet?

Check out the source code - it's worth it :)

I don't think I can actually say "Hadron". I always inevitably both read the word as Hard On and say Hard on (and stumble to correct myself). You'd think they would have made the name of the thing less . . . erectile.
