Weekend Domesticity

I'm still getting used to having free weekends!

Yesterday was a blazingly beautiful spring/almost summer day. I managed to get my front bed weeded and go to the egg farm and the library AND see my friends B&J and their dog Lucy for a dog-walk.

Today, I cleaned my house and planted some cosmoi and some foxgloves and took Robinson for a lovely walk down on the Westsong way. It was not so sunny, but still not an unpleasant day.

It was Mother's Day, which I do my best to ignore, but somehow can't, quite. I miss mine. A lot.

But there was some lamb and asparagus and yam chips for supper, and I've been listening to and enjoying the new Decemberists album, and reading a really good book (Lament: The Faerie Queen's Deception), and Tabitha and Robinson make me laugh, and life is good even though I miss my Mum...

I missed my mom too.

*hugs back* yes - I'm so sorry... these "special" days are hard.

Mine went into hospital last night - waiting to hear if she's OK. (It seems unlikely to be anything to worry too much about, but I do.)

Enjoy your free weekends and your good things in life, though.

Oh dear, a day late (just back from Bristol) but sympathetic pats for the Mother's Day sadness. And yay for all the lovely things in your weekend, and I'm glad you're enjoying Lament AND the new Decemberists album - Becca and I got it for Younger Daughter's birthday last month and I'm looking forward to her sharing it. (Not why we got it, of course!)
