A quiet day

I needed this - a day in which not a lot happened, although I do seem to have been out most of the time. I wrote postcards this morning, and took some stuff to the P/O to send home. Then I walked along Kensington High St. (wanting to go to the roof gardens, but they were closed) and then to Victoria stn to meet my sort-of-cousin. I suggested going to the Tate Modern for lunch, but it was closed, so we went to a restaurant near St. Paul's and then to the British Museum. I struck out on the Michaelangelo exhibit because it was sold out, but never mind; I saw the Elgin marbles and the Sutton Hoo treasure, and many other things and am perfectly content. Oh, and I did see the flying phallus! It was rather good :)

And you did go into the Reading Room, surely? Were S and I right about it?

ha! Sutton Hoo! I remember that from a quiz question in your class. Good to know I retain things in the long term.

Yes, of course :) ... and yes you were right. It's an incredible space.
