Rainy Monday

It's hard to believe that I've been back from Paris almost an entire week. I haven't got anything done! (except read emails from work and fume about them; I think I need to declare a moratorium on reading my work email at all, except that one or two people whom I actually like contact me that way...)

So today, I cleaned my house, all day. And made soup. And made cauliflour cheese, which was made healthier by the addition of acorn squash and more French by grating some nutmeg over it

Cauliflour is one of those things that are difficult if you are only one person. Either you eat it every day for a week, or it goes off. Luckily cauliflour lasts quite a long time, but it's nicer if it can be eaten when it hasn't been sitting in your fridge for a long time. But it was on sale, and I like cauliflour cheese, and, well, you know. So now I've got this honking big vegetable in my fridge and I have to think of what to do with it, and already I have leftover cauliflour cheese to eat tomorrow, and I've only made a small inroad into the cauliflour.

From all this whittering, you will gather that I don't really have anything to say but I haven't written anything for a while and felt that I should. So I did.

I haven't had a chance to mention before how much I enjoyed your Parisian reports. Had I not been off to the US I might well have been even more envious!

Thank you! I enjoyed writing them :) (and being there, of course!)

Cauliflower curry or aloo gobi is how I use up the cauliflower -- and raw with a nice salad dressing.

Yes, I love raw cauliflour, and curry. What's aloo gobi?
