I wake from a dream of blogging

To blog about my dream. It (the dream, that is) was all connected with something medieval, which makes a strange kind of sense because I believe that more medievalists blog than any other single group of academics.

One thing I like about this medium is the opportunity it affords to make gnomic utterances at three in the morning.

I wonder if it's because medievalists have been put through reading Margery Kempe, and figure that, even if they're not another Wonkette or Shakespeare's Sister, they can do better than old Marge?

Heh. Yes - I wouldn't be surprised!

I also suspect it may be the influence of one or two "power bloggers" in the field, and of panels like the ones that [livejournal.com profile] owlfish and others organize at Kalamazoo every year.
