Introducing Tabitha
I'm happy for you all to meet my new kitten, Tabitha (I actually had a different name picked out, but she insisted that her name was Tabitha). As you can see, she's a greyish-brownish Tabby, and she's beautiful. She seems very self-confident and has a strong personality. She arrived late yesterday afternoon from Hazelton (in northern BC), where my one of my neighbours is working. If I hadn't taken her, she would have gone to the SPCA, so I guess you could call her an SPCA diversion :)
Right now, she's shy of Robinson, so I'm keeping them strictly apart and making sure that things are calm and non-confrontational. I don't care if it takes weeks for them to get used to one another. I managed to carry her past the room where R was confined behind a baby gate without her digging in her claws. They just looked at one another while I told them both how good they were. We'll keep on like that for a while, until I feel that she can come into a room with Robs on-leash, but that might be a few days yet. I hope they might become friends, but I want Tabitha to have a good life as part of the family and not be made nervous by R, so I will have to be firm and careful.
She and I have bonded, for sure. She chirrups when she sees me, and we've had several good cuddles already. And I spent some time this morning with her playing with her toy mouse. We're just going to have to do some very diplomatic division of time between her and Robinson.

Congratulations
I expect she'll be bossing Robinson around within a few months.
