Shameless Patriotic Squee!

As of this moment, Canada is actually in fourth place in the Olympic medal standings... (ahead of the US hee hee) (sorry, just had to say that...) It probably won't last, but YAY!!!!!!!!!!! GO CANADA!

Meanwhile we're all excited because we have one silver medal. But you get rather more snow than we do. And our curling teams are ace.

So (except for the curling) I'll echo the go, Canada!

Yes, and I'm afraid that I just saw that our women's curling team just beat *cough* yours... so ... sorry, but we do seem to be doing raither well. But it's a round robin at the moment, not a knock out, so no doubt there's more opportunity for us to get beaten. Our curlers are pretty good, too, though... But our cross-country snowboarder who was expected to win got hauled off on a stretcher, so it's not ALL good news... I usually cheer for the Brits, too, being an expat - it's fun.

Bugger. Still, we did well last time.

You were born here?

Well, technically in Germany, on an RAF base... but on "British soil" - lived in England till I was 7 years old, and actually started school there. All the main part of my family is still there. My mum was from Essex and my dad was born in Salisbury. I've been back several times, and because of a steady diet of British comics, books, TV shows etc still "relate" perhaps more to British culture than to North American. I love Canada, though.
