1. You were one of the first two or three people I friended on LJ. I may have been attracted to your old user name (classicscat) because of the "classics" part of it and then we have a lot of interests in common as well.

1. Well, I knew you in RL, of course. You friended me, when I accidentally commented on your class blog when logged in as intertext. I friended you back because I enjoyed your posts and because we ARE friends.

2. BSG!

If you were my fairy godmother what would I wish for? Well, the stereotypical miss American answer like, World Peace or something more articulated, an end of poverty & exploitation, and something for myself: a bomb shelter & a bidet on a sweet little property. Actually if my first wish came true then the bomb shelter would be irrelevant. :D

Runners-Up: Firefly to not be canceled, a better, alternate ending to BSG, to have a very sophisticated ability to travel through space.

1. I can't, to be honest, remember how I "found" you - we have a ton of friends in common, and I suspect it was via owlfish. I stayed because you're intelligent and interesting and nice!

Pratchett and Gaiman are tops for fantasy now, I think. Bujold, Gibson, Miéville, Ellison's short stories, Brin. Oh -- and Tepper, Tepper, Tepper. Oh -- KJ Parker. CJ Cherryh.

Actually, it's changed over the years, but it's still easier for me to pick out people I don't like much than for people I've never liked. I loved McCaffery when I was younger, but am sort of meh on her these days. Same with Katherine Kurtz -- loved the first 6 Deryni books, and even sort of liked what she did with the whole Templar thing, but can't be bothered now. Loved Card for a few books, then went off him.
