On Top of Everything Else...

I dropped my iPhone in the toilet. And it's fried. And I have two years to go on my contract with Fido (with which I got it for free).

Anyone know what happens in situations like this?

Is it still under warranty?

Pull it out, turn it off if it's still on, let it dry COMPLETELY, and then if it still doesn't turn on, take it in and say "I don't know what happened."

Are you sure it's dead? My LJ friend [livejournal.com profile] hrj did exactly the same thing but she successfully put hers into intensive care and later revived it.

Relevant posts are here (http://hrj.livejournal.com/288288.html) and here (http://hrj.livejournal.com/288678.html) and here (http://hrj.livejournal.com/289014.html).

I hope it recovers.

Sadly, the warranty doesn't cover water damage, and they can tell if it's water - a little pink line comes up like litmus paper that gives it away.

And I left it in a bag of rice for three days, which seems to be the prevailing wisdom, then tried it, and ... nothing.

[livejournal.com profile] heleninwales got there before me, as this was more or less exactly what I meant to post.

Best of luck with your phone!

Well, as you can imagine, I have no freaking idea what to do about the phone, but I wanted to express my sympathy. How well we all know that feeling of nooooooooooooooo!!!!!.

I'm with lidocafe - no clue. But I'm sorry. I know how attached you are to it :-)
