The Louvre always overwhelms me. I never have enough time to go sit in one place, step and repeat in several other places on other days and so I dash around and end up feeling like I can't stand the whole experience. I do love the sculpture galleries though. Like you, I was blown away by the size of the real works when I'd just seen them in slides or plates before...that David sticks in my mind too! Love the Monets at the Musee D'Orsay - I could look at them for hours. Every time I look away and look back, they change a bit. That, to me, is the meaning of impressionism. Thanks for reminding me. Am LOVING this virtual revisiting of Paris!
