Very interesting. I'm only just beginning to get to grips with narrative theory, which is one of the resasons I asked about it... Fantasy of manners is not something I've come across, but it sounds like I'd enjoy it.
Harold Bloom annoys me, though I must admit I've read very little of him; but apart from his misrable attitude to Potter (and Tolkien), as a mediaevalist, I'm somewhat irritated by his renaissance superiority complex (Invention of the human, forsooth!)
