My students would no doubt be very pleased to discover that I do everything at the last minute, too.
It revived my spirits, for one.
I spent a happy afternoon at the UVic library. I know to those on my flist who are in degree studies, "happy time in the library" doesn't sound very likely, but I haven't done any really serious work for ages and I got a nice buzz from being there.
The only "buzz" I get from UVic's library is the buzz of cicadas lulling me to sleep. I don't know why (leylines? Vortexes? Asbestos?) but if I stay in that building for too long I become exhausted.
Your research sounds highly interesting. I'm usually so busy rifling through JSTOR for something to back up my historical argument that I forget about other databases, and the fun things that UVic might have tucked away. It does sound like you're breaking new ground, too - good luck with it. :)
