To my US Friends

Happy Thanksgiving!

I think that this year we all have a lot to be thankful for. As oursin pointed out, a shadow has been lifted from the world.

I'm also grateful to have you all as a part of my life in a very real way. I feel that I know so many of you, and have been through so many things with you: one of you leaving her love and familiar surroundings to study in a new country, another losing and finding her kitty, another buying a new house, another tragically losing her mother, another starting a bookshop, another going through difficult times with her husband, another struggling with depression, many of you plugging away at writing projects, some of you publishing things, another having well deserved academic success, another still joyously adept at finding the beauty and magic in the world.

Thank you all for sharing those things with me.
