I woke up rather early this morning, but at the hour and minute that represents my present age. I think this may be a good year, because the one person I was ever most in love with had this thing about a significant number (which was actually the number of people who were in the audience at Bob Dylan's first ever concert in Greenwich Village) and now I am at that age. So it must be magical.

Several very nice things happened today. I taught at 8:30 and had an excellent class, and returned to my office to find that a fairy had left flowers in my door (ssh, it was actually lidocafe). They are lovely, and I now have them in a vase at home looking beautiful. Then I have received greetings from it seems about 100 people on Facebook and Flickr and LJ, and I feel very much a part of a large group of friends - so *hugs* to all of you!!

Then, my friend [livejournal.com profile] superfoo wrote this absolutely wonderful birthday greeting in her blog, which just filled me with delight and cheer and happiness and all good things.

Then, the sun was shining brightly, and Robinson and I went out for a really nice walk in one of our favourite places, Mt Doug park, and that was Good, too.

And then I met my friend kp in Fernwood for dinner, and across the street to the Belfry theatre to watch an extremely good production of Tom Stoppard's "The Real Thing," which was wonderful. I think Tom Stoppard is my favourite contemporary playwright. His words just sing. And the actors in this production were really good, and the stage set was good, and it was just a really GOOD production all round, so a perfect birthday treat.

And if that were not enough, there's to be a celebration on Saturday to which [livejournal.com profile] marri and [livejournal.com profile] superfoo and [livejournal.com profile] lidocafe and other wonderful friends are coming (including, it is rumoured, the elusive Baz). So there's just no end to my feeling very much loved and special. I'm very grateful - thank you!
