Just an update on the internetz dilemma I was having a few days ago ([livejournal.com profile] handyhunter, you might be interested in this as you are having the same problem). Nothing had worked (clearing browser cache, clearing personal "library" cache, turning router and modem on and off, hitting reset button on router). Today, I went into router and hit "release" and "refresh" for address connecting to ISP (DP address? can't remember, but it's the only one there with these commands attached to it). I remembered this as something I used to do when using Windows, and was the default "try this first" suggestion from ISP. I also changed the channel on my wireless connection. It seems to have worked. No more lagging; indeed, the internet is now working lightning fast

Keep your fingers crossed.

Oh, and in related news, downloaded latest upgrade to Safari, which seems to have some quite cool features.

I spoke too soon. Just had to reboot modem and router again... grrr. It's faster than before, but still bogging down for no apparent reason.

ETA: another update. Apparently my rogue network message is something that dates to an Apple security update. It may be that those network changes caused by that are what have been making my connection cut in and out, hence need to reboot router all the time. Have done "fix" for that, and the rogue message has now gone and things seem to be working. Fingers crossed again.

ETA Again: curses. After all that, I still had to reboot the router again just now. Curses curses curses. I think I've exhausted all possibilities...

Reading a good book.
Watching Tabitha play.
Eating a raspberry from my own canes, warm from the sun.
Taking photographs.
Sitting on the ground, feeling the solid warmth of Robinson's body next to mine.
Burying my nose in Robinson's fur, smelling the sweet, tweedy, scent of him (he doesn't smell "doggy," so don't get grossed out)
Watching the play of sun and sky and transparent green of leaves above me.
Picking sweet peas for the house.

I did all those things this afternoon, and that's why I'm happy :-)
