I had a very nice day today.
First of all, it was sunny and warm and spring-like. One of those days that we on the West Coast of Canada feel smug about while the rest of North America suffers under Snowmaggedon.
Then, I had lunch with a dear friend, and with someone whom she loves, who I hope might become a good friend in the future. And it was good.
Then, after a brief interlude at work, I went downtown and bought myself a hideously expensive but very much desired new lens for my camera, that is going to make my 365 project even more fun.
Then, I went to Munro's bookstore, where the birthday gift certificate
marri had given me paid exactly for the new Diana Wynne Jones book, that I didn't even think was out in Canada yet. And I also bought myself the new Connie Willis, and Let The Great World Spin. What to read first?
Then, I came home to find that the books I'd ordered from Aqueduct Press, The Secret Feminist Cabal, by Helen Merrick, which
ithiliana has been raving about, and a new book of essays by Ursula Le Guin, had arrived.
And also in the post were two dvd's from Zip, and the Oscar edition of Entertainment Weekly. So I'll have some fun stuff to read and watch this weekend.
And I took the hounds for a walk in the late afternoon sunshine, and then cooked myself some sole for supper.
And here we are.
