I wonder what it is about English departments. The English department at Undergrad Institution is always in the process of ripping itself apart via internecine warfare. The respective heads of the two main factions retired, and like a hydra, those factions are mostly defunct but new ones have sprouted and are locked in a fight to the generous early retirement package death.
