My charitable giving is a bit ad hoc because I have a fairly ad hoc kind of income, but I make a point of not donating money to any cause that cold-calls me (not so often these days, mercifully), not to mention any charity that uses 'chuggers' (charity muggers – the people who accost you in the street as though you were a long-lost friend and get really miffed when you politely suggest you have better things to do than speak to them). And were anyone to pester me as you've been pestered, I'd cut them off as well.
