Clio Dec 1993 - Sept 11, 2008



My dear little cat Clio went in for dental surgery this morning, investigating some swelling in her mouth. When she was under anaesthetic, they discovered she had a massive tumour in her mouth. Late this afternoon, she was euthanized while I held her in my arms. Even if we'd found the tumour earlier, the outcome would have been the same.

I am in shock - there was I thinking "oh, poor Clio, an abscess tooth, but now she'll be so much better" and then... she's gone. I can't believe I'm not going to hear her lovely little chirrup of greeting again, or feel her little warm body curled up against me at night, or see her beautiful green eyes. I know you probably think I'm all about the dogs, but I loved my little Cliocat and I'm going to miss her, terribly.

I am so very sorry to read this, Debbie. I lost my dear cat KP the very same way many years ago. An abcess in his mouth caused my mom to take him in to the vet, and he didn't come home.

Thanks. Yes, it feels weird - at the beginning of the year I had three animals; now I only have one. Poor Robs has a lot of responsibility!

I am so very sorry. It's always a terrible thing to happen, but so suddenly too. At least you were there at the end; I was for my Mincat, and it's still very important for me.
