Okay, so I've now booked my flights to and from London. I'm arriving on June 10 and leaving on July 10 (very symmetrical). I'm booked in Venice from June 15 to the 30th, and will be in Bristol July 3-5 for the DWJ conference. The other bits are slightly vague, but I am thinking that I'll be in London for the 5 or so days before Venice, and then I can go Somewhere for the 4 days or so after Bristol. There's a few days between Venice and Bristol, where I'm thinking I might go to Bath, or I might arrange a day-trip to Wales to see my aunt in Abergavenny - I should probably get in touch with my Cousin-from-Hell (don't ask) to see how aunty is doing and whether this is even a good idea (she's 93 and suffers from dementia). Or ... there are many possibilities...

Remind me to travel light, so that movement from place to place with bags will not be a struggle.

But now I've actually booked my flights, this all seems a lot more real! Woo hoo :)

That is very exciting! It's even just exciting to read that someone else is doing it, so you must be over the moon!

Have fun!

Do you have anything you can read e-books on? Last summer I loaded up my Palm with free e-books (from the tor.com program, the Baen free library, and good old Gutenberg) and cut down the number of paper books I needed to carry around by quite a bit.

Ignore me if that isn't a useful suggestion, of course.

Thanks!

And thanks again for the ideas about reading material. That's something I need to think about. If I were in the US, I might consider a Kindle. Failing that, it's something worth thinking about... I'll have my laptop with me, so I should look at the best options for that...

All being well I will see you in Bristol! I've decided to go to the conference.

All I need to do now is get my act together and book a place.
