I love the category "Postmodern metafictional movies." Good one. And I was shocked anew to think of Paul Newman as being "an actor from the past," but you're right, he's awesome (was awesome, sniff). I also considered Jimmy Stewart because he's an actor whose presence will always make me watch a movie, however brief a time he's in it. His drunk scene in The Philadelphia Story is one of my favorites. Also couldn't agree more about Mike Leigh and Ang Lee. Ah, movies, I could go on and on about you.
