Actually don't get me down. At least, not when they include a very pleasant lunch with the always delightful
lidocafe. We went to a restaurant in Oak Bay that neither of us had been to before ... The Blue Coast? Was that it? It reminded me a bit of a hotel restaurant, with that air of solid respectability and tasteful interior design. It seemed a place where seniors would feel comfortable; however, I should not damn it with faint praise, because the food was fresh and tasty and the menu was quite appealing.
I have now, fairly recently, eaten two different vegetable soups with cheese in them - one was cauliflower with cheese and today's was broccoli with cheese. Both were very good, and I am inspired to seek out a recipe and try it for myself.
When I got home, I went and did some gardening, despite the rain. I wanted to get two blueberry bushes planted, and some strawberry plants, and I did, so that was good.
Other than that, I've mostly just faffed around all day. Tonight I think I'll watch either a movie or Remington Steele (which I have the first dvd disk of from Zip). Then tomorrow I'll focus on some academic work. Yay!
