Hip hip hooray redux

I have a date for my surgery! August 1. Apparently the day my surgeon returns from vacation, so actually quite a good choice. And still giving me a fair bit of time to recover before term starts in September. I heard today about someone from my college who has recently had one and is walking quite well with a cane about 7 weeks later - and completely free from pain. Oh boy. I can't wait. Those who tried to keep up with me as I whizzed around London and elsewhere on my vacation will understand when I admit that I grossly overdid it, and overtaxed the poor thing, and it's now on the point of giving out, and is hurting like the dickens. Most of the time. But I only have a month and a half or so to go! Yay.
