Another Milestone

I walked into my surgeon's office today without my cane. And was pronounced fit. I saw my x-ray - this extremely solid looking joint looking as if it has absolutely no intention of dislocating ever. He (my surgeon) said "congratulations, your hip will only keep on getting better from now on."

Oh, and I went swimming on Monday and today for the first time since before the surgery. That felt really good, too. It was great to get the heart racing and to move the rest of my body. I'm so much appreciating my body these days: feeling strong and fit and healthy.

I've been reading all this time, so excited for you and your replacement and I've been terrible about responding to tell you how happy I am! Which is very happy!

Oh, and Stacy Frith is in my Shakespeare class at UVic, as is Meredith. I'm not as excited about the latter, but it's awesome to have a class with Stacy again. We talk about you quite a bit -- we both miss you and your class!

I'm also glad you are enjoying Buffy (I sense [livejournal.com profile] gillo's influence there) -- I'm an avid, avid fan, as I'm sure you know.

Thanks!! How lovely to hear from you. Say hi to Stacey! Re: Meredith - hee. No further comment :) Who's your Shakespeare prof?
Re: Buffy, yes, partly [livejournal.com profile] gillo's influence, but also all you hyper-intelligent students who seemed captivated by it - I thought "they're not air-heads - there must be something in this Buffy thing..." and the fact that a lot of critics were saying it was the best TV series EVAH (which I'm beginning to agree with). Oh, I'm a complete convert, now - I'm going to buy myself the complete set on dvd for Christmas!

I wasted my UVic Shakespeare over the summer. Summer was a fine idea, but the prof was a waste of time. Aside from the crazy, nitty gritty details.. like memorizing footnotes, I loved Jim's Shakespeare classes. Glad I got that at least. Hope you're enjoying your prof/class. Sorry to read you had to drop a couple classes. Is Shakespeare the one you've kept? Relish it!! :)
