Good Things

Without being Pollyanna-ish, I should report the following things that have been considerably cheering over the last couple of days:

The sun has been shining and the temperature has been mild.

lidocafe suggested having lunch, which is a very nice idea. Virtual relationships are all very well, but RL contact is nice, too.

I have arranged to team-teach a course on Ulysses with one of the nicest, coolest and best teachers in the department. This won't happen for about six years but is something to look forward to. It will be the best course EVAH.

The new DWJ arrived from Amazon.

I've had a couple of very good classes on Never Let Me Go

Absolutely not least, superfoo gave me a lovely card and letter which was a wonderful affirmation not just of teaching but of who I am and where I am in my life and everything. Thank you!

I saw the list with the Ulysses course on it. I think I'll audit that one, actually!

Yeah, that is going to be the BEST course. TCjr is just as excited about it as I am (and when you get to be my age having young cool dynamic teachers excited about working with you is rather nice) I wish we could do it next year, but I guess we have to wait our turn...

You never know, people might wuss out. I'm not sure if KK is ready for hers! You could check on the Engl. Drive and see the SD prop. and that might tell you, or, I guess, you could just wait for the schedule to come out. Should be soon. Just imagine how many laughs for week you'll get working with Timbit!

Well, the list I published by email was the most up-to-date (don't forget I'm the custodian of the page on the Engl drive!)- the result of lengthy negotiations after mw pooped out and mnh became chair. KK is good to go, so is LE, so I think 2012 is about as early as I can hope for! Never mind; there's something quite nice about planning that far ahead. "Timbits" was of course chuffed because it means he'll have a job :)
