Mill Hill Wildflowers

Today the sun was shining, so I took the opportunity to drive out to Mill Hill and explore. It was peak time for wildflowers. I saw:
cammas
shooting stars
erythronium
calypso orchids
yellow violets
trilliums
speedwell
toadflax
and other things that I'm not sure of the name of.

The dogs and I had a good hike, and I took lots of photos. Now they are snoozing as I write this, and I am very tired and my non bionic hip is aching slightly, but it was a good walk.

Isn't it a heavenly spring? Same things in bloom here too. I took a walk with the dogs and (stupidly) left the camera at home. A whole bank of Calypso's a couple of miles from the house took my breath away.

P.S. read The Road in one sitting. Unbelievable. Left you a comment on the McCormac entry.

Lovely flowers -- very different both from what we get around here, and from the English spring flowers I grew up with.

(That's my 'Spring' icon.)

Pretty! Nothing like that here except the trees, and the 60 mph winds are playing havoc with them!
