LJ Interests meme results

  1. bloomsbury:
The Group. Virginia. Leonard. Et al. I know they were terrible snobs and probably were fascists, but I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall of one of their evening conversations.
  2. children's literature:
I don't just read them, I collect them. Old ones when I can afford them, but also beautiful new ones. Harry Potter? Yes, but Diana Wynne Jones rules.
  3. dogs:
Totally a no-brainer. Couldn't live without them My creature comforts.
  4. gerard manley hopkins:
"I caught this morning morning's minions / Dawn's dapple dawn drawn dauphin..." oh the beauty and the grace and the wonder of it.
  5. julie czerneda:
A delightful Canadian sf writer, one with the most inventive aliens I've ever enountered. Who else could envision a hockey game played by chubby pink creatures with feathery eyebrows? And she's getting better!
  6. metafiction:
Postmodernism! Fiction about fiction. One of my intellectual passions - what can I say? How about "Shakespeare in Love" for example?
  7. nature:
Well, is there anyone who doesn't love it?
  8. photography:
I just realized that I've been doing this for more years than I care to count. Way back from when I used my completely manual Olympus OM1 to now with my Canon Rebel digital SLR.
  9. sf novels:
Another no brainer. Reading, reading, reading. and teaching a little. But mostly reading.
  10. tintin:
That funny little guy and his dog Snowy and those wonderful detailed backgrounds and witty characters and goofy friends and silly adventures. What's not to like?

You're absolutely right. I wrote that far too late at night, without really considering the term properly. I do have my suspicions about Rupert Brooke, who was not, of course a member of the group, but if I remember my VW biography, hung about with them (or at least her) early on... I'm not even sure now what I intended in my use of the term; I think the snobbery and definitely the anti-semitism. But in the fullest sense of the word, they were definitely not.

that was me, by the way. On a different computer - I forgot to log on.
