So, some folks ([livejournal.com profile] coyotegestalt, [livejournal.com profile] redhilltown, [livejournal.com profile] kinetikatrue and [livejournal.com profile] chickenfeet2003) have done rounds of literary boticelli, and I won the last one, so I'm hosting this round. In-depth directions for the game can be found here on kinetikatrue's page. It's laid out pretty nicely, so I suggest you go read and come back. But basically, the question you ask must be specific enough that I can answer confidently with a particular author or character (as in, "no, I'm not Elizabeth Bennett"). If I don't get the reference, you get to ask a more general question that can be answered with a yes or no, such as the person's sex, age, nationality, etc.

So, this time, my name starts with "R"

I am fictional, I am not Rincewind, Roderick Random, "the fair Rosaline," Reepicheep the mouse, or Mae Rose-Cottage. I am not male and I appear in a novel.

We have a winner! The astute [livejournal.com profile] ironed_orchid guessed correctly that I am Mrs Ramsey, always waiting to go To The Lighthouse.

(sorry about the delay in getting started - I had some mysterious ISP or modem gremlins that were preventing me from getting online)

I am not Reepicheep.

I was going to say that it was worth a shot, but really, not, given I somehow managed to get the 'not male' thing reversed in my head.

I wondered about that - wracked my brains to remember if there was a female mouse in Narnia :) Reepicheep is a pretty secure male, too, I would think, even if he seems content with his bachelor state...

Just so, yes. I seem to have been remarkably off this game. Sorry about that. 8)
