My darling Chums is fourteen years old today.

Cholmondeley is Fourteen!

He is the most delightful dog. Charming, cheeky, childlike Chums - thinking about him now is tinged with sadness because he is getting thin and old and I know that he won't be with me all that much longer.

But we had a great day today. I took him and Robinson for a special birthday walk to Island View Beach, and he had a lovely time. When I sat down in the warm sand, he came and laid his head heavily against my thigh and I just sat and scratched his ears and murmured silly things. Perfect happiness. The sun was warm on my back, and on his fur, and he was tired from running after a toy and splashing in the waves and trying to keep up with Robinson. Really, his joi de vivre knows no bounds - he just enjoys his life, and wants nothing more than good food and my company and a soft bed to snooze in after.

Happy birthday, C. You're a shampoo advertisment, tossing your hair slo-mo in the wind.

YOUR Cholmondeley is certainly a CUTIE!!!
and is the only other Cholmondeley I know, exCEPT for MY Cholmondeley. I've gotten tons of ribbing about his name...then I explain that his name is from a Dickens' novel "Martin Chizzlewit", which brings more ribbing. :O)
Is that how you named your guy?
He's darling.
And so is mine. If I can figure out how, I'll include his photo. Oh well, can't figure out how to do that.....shucks!!!

Coming from a British background, I had the name tucked away in my consciousness, and it seemed suitable for a beardie. I didn't know it was in Martin Chuzzlewit - that's cool :)

To put a photo in a comment, you have to use html code like you have to to do formatting or put in a link, and in fact it is a link. The photo must be stored somewhere online, like Flickr or Photobucket. Those sites can usually tell you how to find the URL, and armed with that, the code is *left chevron*img src="your photo's URL"*right chevron* Replace "left chevron" with < and "right chevron" with > (I couldn't write them because the server would read it as code, which would be broken, and it might not print the rest of it) And you need the quotation marks around the URL.
