Tea and Sympathy

The nicest thing happened to me today.

A student from last term, a very bright woman of about my age, possibly a bit younger, with a shared interest in Folio Society books and dogs, had heard about my losing Cholmondeley.

So she turns up at my office today with a complete English Cream tea. Home made scones (beautiful ones, with cranberries and whole wheat flour), Devon cream, blackcurrant jam, organic tea. Even some biscuits for Robinson.

How cool is that???

What a sweet surprise! I love people who are so thoughtful like that. It is a sensitive quality I aspire to have. Which is kind of weird and may sound selfish..
