Okay, I cheated. Flagrantly. But I had to be:

Which Major Romantic Poet Would You Be (if You Were a Major Romantic Poet)?

You're John Keats! You were born poor, trained to be a doctor, and then decided you wanted to be a poet. You threw yourself into poetry with great dedication. You're very nice and extremely dedicated to your art. You write great letters and sexy poetry. It's amazing how much you got done in your short lifetime.

Which Major Romantic Poet Would You Be (if You Were a Major Romantic Poet)?

You are George Gordon, Lord Byron! The prototypical bad boy, you'll sleep with anything that can give consent and maybe even a few things that can't or won't. Your ethics could use some work (nine year old girls?), but outside of the sex question, you're a grand partier and the bipolar, shady hero of your own story. The wittiest of the Romantics, you're mad, bad and dangerous to know. Scandalous!

The nice thing about this quiz is that quite a few of the results are acceptable. I got Byron, which was fun, but I'm certainly not as, shall we say,
voracious
as he was? Most Romantic poets have their attractions.

I wouldn't have wanted to be Byron or Wordsworth. Coleridge, Blake or Shelley (if he's even in there - I'm not sure) would all have been acceptable, but Keats is my darling.

I've been doing a lot of work on Byron in recent months, and warmed to his poetry, if not his lifestyle. He did life the most superb soap opera, though! Wordsworth at his best is amazing - the Intimations Ode, for example, but he outlived his talent by a long way. I adore Keats's poetry, but gawd he was such a wimp over Fanny Brawne!

I really truly am the daughter of an engraver, so likely would have become one - like Blake.

Bah. Cheating is part of the fun. I'm Coleridge with only a little bit of cheating (I picked some of the wilder answers than my so-called boring life often dictates - but nothing wild enough to come up Byronic)
