On our walk yesterday, Robinson and I spotted this little guy.

Otter on the Westsong

It's kind of a blurry photo, but the first time I've been lucky enough to capture one of our resident otters. This is a river otter, not the famous (and cuter) sea otter, who lives a lot farther north.

Wonderful! Otters of any sort are just marvelous. I think I like river otters better, actually--because they're so playful. But sea otters are very cute.

I like these ones, too, though I dream of one day seeing a sea-otter in the wild. You often see these ones, along this walk especially, and I love the way you get the little line of bubbles to show where they are, just as described in The Wind in the Willows.

Now I'm singing Jonathan Coulton's "Furry Old Lobster". :P

Great picture. :)

Excellent! I love otters, and have been fortunate enough to see sea otters in California, and river otters in the Hebrides.

So cool! Never seen a river otter in person. I've seen the sea otters in Monterey Bay and in Alaska though. I would really love to see a river otter - they are so cool when you see them in nature programs.
