Sad news for SF fans: Stanislav Lem died today at the age of 84.
The CBC has an obituary.

Good news for classical music fans who have found a desert when it comes to available downloads at places like i-tunes. According to this article in the Guardian, classical music record producers are waking up to the idea that there's gold in them thar mp3 players, and beginning to make more and more back catalogue material available. Have a look though at the list of "most popular" classical downloads on i-tunes. Shudder. (I'm such a snob)

And a bit of schadenfreude: Thomas Kincaide, the world's most successful purveyor of the most vile kitsch, has apparently been accused of fraud and drunken antics. Why am I not surprised?
