My workshop was a howling success. There were a couple of minor technical glitches just to keep things interesting, but nothing disastrous, and everything went smoothly on the whole. One participant said afterwards "I feel like I've been handed a pole-vaulting pole" which I thought was nice and made me feel good. This kind of skills workshop is very directly satisfying, because you give people specific skills that they can take away and play with, and it's fun. It was a good way to finish the term, though - a much more direct "I'm finished" kick than the somewhat anti-climactic round of grading, submitting grades, dealing with whiny students etc, which always leaves me feeling vaguely anxious rather than accomplished.

Lunch with kp was nice but a bit subdued. She looked tired and strained - she's deep into finishing a project and trying to get specific things done before returning to Kingston in a couple of weeks. She'll be gone when I get back and not back until the end of June or possibly longer (I wouldn't be surprised if longer). Food was good, though, and I came away with enough for my supper tonight - a Good Thing when I'm trying hard not to buy groceries prior to trip.

Cholmondely was given some ointment for his eye and is fine; the infection is minor and caught early.

I fell asleep in front of the season conclusion of Angel 4, so will have to watch it again sometime today, maybe while eating dinner so I don't fall asleep again. Woke up at 2:30 and didn't get back to sleep until about 5:00 and then woke up again at 7:30, so am buzzing again. No doubt will sleep on plane, as long as I don't succumb to thumping migraine upon arrival in Paris.

I have a big to do list for the next couple of days, which includes some effort to clean my house. kp said she doesn't bother because it will all just need cleaning again upon return, but I couldn't bear to leave it not cleaned. In any case, it's end of term. I don't have dust bunnies; I have dust wooly mammoths.

Here is my to-do list:

Buy travel medical insurance
Return library books
Pay utility bill
Pay credit card bill
Phone credit card company to warn them of upcoming foreign purchases (did but they were closed, so must try again tomorrow)

Buy Euros (may not bother with this, or may do at Toronto airport while killing time on Monday)
Find thingy to fasten pack across chest
Purchase useful and comfortable sandals
Purchase lightweight fleece or hoody
Pay parking ticket that I got while shopping today - if done within 14 days is half price. Tried earlier but hadn't gone through yet.
Sign contract for Museum of Healthcare and mail it (this is for a very unimportant piece of writing of mine that they are using on their "virtual museum" - comes of having a friend who is building it)
Return dvds
Groom dogs (mostly done)
"Advantage" dogs
Put all outdoor potted plants onto deck and water them (pretext for this is that cat sitter has key, and there is a hose on the deck so it's easier for her to water them for me there than scattered about the place)
Clean house
Do laundry

Pack

Most of the remaining items above can be done tomorrow. Dogs are to be delivered to their "holiday home" in the morning, and I'm stopping in to see elderly person mentioned in previous posts before going away. That will be a brief visit with all remaining "to do" items as pretext for cutting it short.
