Landscape with Buzzard

Here's one view from Robinson and my walk on Mt Doug this afternoon. That's a turkey buzzard in silhouette (much more attractive in flight than not, and you can't see its red face in this view)

WE DO HAVE TURKEY BUZZARDS HERE!!!

You don't understand how much this explains to me.

When we were going to easter dinner I saw this GIGANTIC black bird with a bright red face wandering about in the front lawn of a house going towards the airport in Sidney. I did a double-take and basically said "WHAT THE FUCK!?" Josh didn't see it, so I was like "I think I'm going crazy because I just saw this giant bird wandering in a yard, it kind of looked like a dinosaur" and after a while I doubted I actually saw what I thought I did. But now I know I'm not insane.

Gorgeous photo, by the way!

hahaha. Yes - I know how you feel. The first time I saw one (flying over me, looking, with its red face, like something out of an SF movie) I couldn't believe it either. I think there are more of them, and they are moving closer in to town (maybe it's global warming, or something)

They're freaky looking. I think what shocked me most was how HUGE they are!
