I just upgraded the RAM in my Macbook. Yay! Twice as much :) And I also bought a 1T external hard drive for photo storage. The photo editing software I use (Aperture) allows storage anywhere without heavy file duplication, so I'm going to download my photos from now on directly into the Terabyte thing and then just fiddle in Aperture. I also copied all my this year's shots into Terabyte thing and erased them from Macbook. I'm hoping this, with the addition of 1G RAM will stop the grinding and creaking that had been going on if I asked Mac to do more than one thing at a time :)

Have you tried using Pixelmator (http://www.pixelmator.com/)? It's an image editor exclusively for the Mac. It runs quite sweetly, and has helped me put off upgrading the RAM. It runs of the graphics processor rather than the normal processor which makes it much less resource intensive.

I'm off to an apple event in about an hour. Gotta love the macs!
