Snuggly Cat

My dear little cat Clio went in for dental surgery this morning, investigating some swelling in her mouth. When she was under anaesthetic, they discovered she had a massive tumour in her mouth. Late this afternoon, she was euthanized while I held her in my arms. Even if we'd found the tumour earlier, the outcome would have been the same.

I am in shock - there was I thinking "oh, poor Clio, an abscess tooth, but now she'll be so much better" and then... she's gone. I can't believe I'm not going to hear her lovely little chirrup of greeting again, or feel her little warm body curled up against me at night, or see her beautiful green eyes. I know you probably think I'm all about the dogs, but I loved my little Cliocat and I'm going to miss her, terribly.

:( I wish I could make it better.

Dear Powers That Be, I am writing to tell you that enough is enough. It's not fair.

Rosa was purring when she died too. Thank god for vets.

I won't expect you tomorrow, but if you're up for a lunch or something, maybe we can try for the weekend.

I might be there tomorrow. Somehow doing something useful seems better than sitting at home crying.
Just when I thought it was safe to go back to the vet... yes. It's hard to lose two friends in one year.

Well, you decide. Don't feel any pressure. We all miss meetings, and for worse reasons too. If you're there, though, I promise not to say anything and thereby shatter your visage.
