Seen all over (are we just a bunch of exhibitionists??)

Take a picture of yourself right now. Don’t change your clothes. Don’t fix your hair. Just take a picture. Post that picture with no editing. (Except maybe to get the image size down to something reasonable. Don’t go posting an eight megapixel image.) Include these instructions.

[livejournal.com profile] owlfish prompted me to try using PhotoBooth - that application has always terrified me (who wants to sit at the computer looking at a full sized picture of yourself, warts and all!). I also remind you that here it is the middle of the night, so you are looking at an insomniac, in tatty t-shirt night wear :)

It's a charming photo - the soft light really helps to make it.

Within two weeks of getting my computer, along with PhotoBooth, I found myself alone in Texas in a hotel room with a fabulous hairdo on my head that needed to be photographed from behind and no tripod. It was the perfect application for photographing the back of my head. Only later did I realize how much fun it is to photograph things Pointalistically (and various other special effects.)

I also just realized that apparently I post a self-portrait on LJ every 2 years. The only other ones I could remember posting turned out to be from 2004 and 2006, so I guess I was due for it?

That's a really nice self-portrait.

Self-portraits are supposed to be my self-imposed photography challenge at the moment, but I'm not doing very well with them. :)

I like your icon! And your default one of yourself at the computer.

hello!

I've followed your Flickr photostream, so your face is pleasantly familiar :-)

:) That sounds like I'm always posting self-portraits there, which I'm not - but I have posted some for "Photo Face-Off" scavenger hunts.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply at all that you post lots of pictures of yourself there! I hope your other readers don't get that impression! I've only seen one or two, and they've just been lovely--you in your surroundings, with the dogs, really beautiful.

Forgive me? I didn't mean to imply that you were Ms Posts Self Portraits Queen or anything like that, truly!

Oh, golly - sorry - my reply must have sounded more grumpy than it was meant to. I was smiling when I wrote it!! (damn these internets). You don't need to apologize!

Phew! No you didn't sound grumpy--it's just, yeah, the Internet--I just always want to be sure people understand...

Annnyway... it's a super photo. And the dog in your drawing has a similar expression on his face, same warm smile :-)

Thanks :) Yeah - I'm constantly reminded about how easy it is to misinterpret things on the internet, and heaven knows I use it enough, especially as I teach on it as well!
