I just downloaded iTunes8. I really, really, really like it :) You get your albums in a library of album covers, so you can browse by what they look like instead of trying to remember "what was that, again?"

But the best part is the "Genius" feature. Oh, sure, it's a marketing ploy - you can select a song and you get recommendations for other things you'll like, or for missing albums in your library. However, on its recommendation this morning I discovered Conor Oberst, whom I like a lot. What I like best is the Genius playlist: you choose a song and it creates a whole playlist of compatible music from your library. You can then save it if you like it. So far, I've saved three. Here's the one I'm listening to now

I haven't heard Conor Oberst's solo album yet, though I wonder if that's the right thing to call it, since he seems solo even as Bright Eyes. Maybe self-titled would be better? Is it much like his Bright Eyes stuff?

I don't really know Bright Eyes, so I can't say. I just burned it onto a cd for the car. I'll bring it this evening, and you can listen to it! I like it - it's a little bit country, a little bit Dylan.
