I'm going to Bristol!!

I just heard that my paper was accepted for the DWJ conference in July! My clever summer plans have come to complete fruition. I'm going to be spending two weeks in Venice at the end of June, with time in England possibly before and definitely after, with Bristol being July 3-5.

The best part is that I may see a bunch of YOU there! steepholm, of course you'll be there... who else?

I'm so excited (that's the worst part of living alone - the only people to squee at are Robinson and Tabitha)

I'll be in London, if all plans go well -- there is a conference at St. Andrews that I really should go to, but it's the 5th, I think. And I don't know if I can work the money. I'll let you know as soon as I work out details with the family.

That would be awesome. I'll be in London for sure for some of the time - after the conference, too. I haven't worked out exactly when I'm going to come home, or leave Canada, for that matter. I'm booked in Venice from the 15th to the 30th of June, and will be in Bristol from the 3rd to the 5th of July - otherwise, it's a bit TBA, so just let me know.

I could possibly do Bristol. Our daughter lives in Cardiff, which is just a short train ride away and easily doable.

Possibly we could arrange a rendezvous for lunch or visit to zoo or something?

That would be great! There's also a good possibility that I will cross the border into Wales - my aunt is still living in a rest home in Abergavenny. She has dementia, and is 93, but I should probably try to take the opportunity to see her. I'm planning to stay around for at least a few days after the conference - maybe I could meet you in Cardiff!

Cardiff sounds good and it would be on the way to Abergavenny, so not out of your way at all.

Keep me posted re dates etc. I usually visit the offspring at some point in the summer, so I'll try to get the dates to coincide.

I'm just back from Leeds and saw you were presenting by way of gillo's LJ before I ever got to yours. I'm presenting at that conference too. :) I think I'll be recruiting LJ to help me with some of the research for my paper. But how exciting to know I'll be spending time with you then! (Plus, further consolation for having to skip my favorite annual conference which is cruelly on the SAME WEEKEND as the DWJ one - but having been obsessing over my topic for months in advance, I really had to give the right paper at the right conference rather than go to the BSHS one.)
