I'm watching Angel, Season 5.

Damn it, Joss Whedon! Why can't you let anyone be happy?? How could you kill off Fred?????

This is my second go-round, but it seems even worse this time.

Fred is probably THE television death that actually makes me angry.

Fred and Willow are the characters that I not-very-secretly wish actually existed.

Oh, I wish all the characters actually existed. Lorne, Wesley, Spike, Gunn, Xander, Cordy,... they are all so wonderful. But I know what you mean about Fred and Willow.

And Wash... (other series, but you know what I mean)

Damn Josh Whedon for his sudden but inevitable betrayal!!

I like almost everyone, although I can't say Xander was ever a particular favorite. I only appreciate him intellectually as opposed to actually having true affection for him.

Yes, curses on Whedon. Curses, curses...

The way the women were treated in those last couple years of Angel really tweaked me a whole lot.

Rumor had it that she would've come back in the sixth season, that Illyria had actually absorbed her, rather than "eaten" her. I'd've liked to have seen that. Right up until the last second, I was sure they were going to find a way to prevent her death.

That _would_ have been interesting, though I rather wish they didn't play fast and loose with deaths, either. However, I guess in a series featuring the supernatural, characters who don't stay dead when they die is not so surprising.

That was such an intense episode. I lost it when Wesley reads to her from A Little Princess.

I don't mind so much when they bring characters back; I'm a sucker for happy endings, even little ones here and there throughout the show ('cause obviously Angel didn't have a happy ending).

I know.

But just don't ever get started reading A Song of Ice and Fire, if you don't like seeing the darlings die.

OMG - yes.
