For one reason and another, I seem to have been operating on an average of about 4 hours sleep per night for the last week or so. Mostly, it's pain. I don't sleep for more than a couple of hours before my blasted hip wakes me up. Then, last night, when I was exhausted and sleeping quite soundly, Robinson woke me at about 2:30 am with his barking. And then again at about 3:00. Grrr. Of course, I woke up heart pounding, wondering if someone was breaking in... But although I looked surreptitiously out the windows, I saw nothing. I had a pile of stuff from the basement waiting on my driveway to be picked up this morning by a rubbish hauling company - maybe someone was out there riffling through to see if there was anything interesting. I didn't notice anything missing this morning (wouldn't have minded if there was - something less to pay for having removed!), but that doesn't mean that there wasn't someone there last night... I'm very very tired now, feeling kind of buzzed and wired as you do when you haven't slept enough. Went out this afternoon, though, and shopped for my trip, so my hip is aching again. And I heard today that I won't have my surgery until August. Bleah.

However, I'm so READY for my trip. All I have to do now is pack, and drop the animals off at their respective hostelries, then I'll be free, and able to relax and not worry about anything for two weeks at least.

You have to wait till August? That's a real bummer.

:hugs:

Alas, such is the reality of the Canadian medical system... I got bumped by a couple of emergencies, and what would have been a couple of weeks was exacerbated by the fact that my surgeon is off on holidays himself in July. In some ways perhaps it will be better to have a surgeon who is just BACK from hols rather than one who would not have been there post-op.

By the way, looking forward to seeing YOU next week (the 20th?) I ll be in touch off list via mail-forwarding, okay?
