I guess it's easier for dogs--they don't mind being in different places. To make arrangements for our cat involves making sure mom has a house key and a schedule for feeding. I've only had to leave Major in a kennel-like situation once, when he was in the veterinary hospital. I worry about doing that because he was a stray that the SPCA had for a long time before we adopted him, so I don't want him to feel like we're leaving him somewhere.
