My photostream on Flickr is a riot of colour and shape. I now have a new "dream" garden: when my garden grows up, I want it to be Giverny. Quite the most beautiful public garden I have ever seen - absolutely breathtaking. And the village itself is charming. This was a highlight of my trip. For complete effect, please see my Giverny Set on Flickr. Meanwhile, see a sample The Flowers of Giverny

All my "wide" shots of the garden turned out pretty crappily - it seems to be difficult to capture that sense of riotous bloom. I found the most successful to be taken with my longer lense because it brings everything together, even though you lose depth of field. If I'd had a tripod, I could have done things with a wider aperture (I had my gorilla pod but nothing to attach it to and crowds of people precluding long stops - professional photographers get time to themselves in these places)

And yes, Giverny is definitely a "must see" - it's absolutely fabulous. I was lucky, too, to catch it probably at its peak of bloom (I timed the trip for May largely because of that aspect)
