Thinking about the attack of the killer vampire hummingbirds.

The scent of cherry blossom in the air is sweet and lovely.

Daddy, you bastard, I'm through.

What's happened to Mrs. Riseborough's house? It looks like a disaster has struck.

Student struck dead by lightning bolt when opening email.

Woo hoo! Won another Photo Face Off Challenge on Flickr!

And another one!

Why are urban fantasies always about the scruffy and the marginal? Proud, haughty Elves in HR seems much more likely.

Strange, autistic, alcoholic Billy in the park gave me a hug when I told him about Cholmondeley. It was oddly comforting.

Human resources. Ours are all very remote and well dressed and seem to have no understanding of human life. That's why I thought it seemed likely they were elves.

Actually, the "Daddy" reference is a good thing. I've been working on resolving some Issues From the Past and basically have done it. It feels very good. But thanks for the sympathy, anyway - good thoughts are always good :)

And yes, the cherry blossom is everywhere. I love it.

Haha, that reminds me of the foxes in Pom Poko (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pom_Poko), a Miyazaki film about how tanuki ("raccoon dogs") are getting displaced by development in Japan. Both tanuki and foxes have the power of transformation, and at one point in the film, the tanuki meet up with some foxes who have adapted to life in the human world, and yes, they're all slick business types--just like your elves in HR!
