He has an abscess. At least that's what they think, and we will assume so unless it doesn't get better or gets worse or something. He was a model of patient goodness at the vet while she poked around in a place that must have been sore. He had his beard slightly shaved, a hole poked in to drain and was sent home with antibiotics. The bank was not broken, and I am relieved. Hopefully he will be feeling better soon. Poor boy; it must have been uncomfortable.

Ow. I recently had to take Ruby to the vet to have her anal glands emptied, and yes, that IS as painful and humiliating as it sounds, so I understand angsting about having to put your pet through the grinder, but all for their own good, right?

Probably an old bite that went yucky--he'll be fine now, I bet.

Yeah, thanks, the swelling seems to be going down already.

One of my dogs... I think it was Cholmondeley, had an _infection_ in his anal glands, so I know all about that! They had to be squeezed out at the vets and then I had to shoot medicine up his bum twice a day. *sheesh* The things we do for the ones we love :)

Ugh. Poor both of you. Ruby's is an ongoing problem, so they recommended that I bring her in every month or two from now on. The whole process of getting her into the carrier and then to the vet is SO distressing for her, so I am not looking forward to it.
