In which it is discovered that
- Tabitha would prefer to share my breakfast porridge while I am eating it, but is happy to lick the bowl afterwards.
- Tabitha is an expert at the one-paw-full-cartwheel, the sideways mouse toss, the reverse mouse toss, the upside-down-couch-hang, and, of course, the full hallway dash. She has also discovered the slipperiness of wood floors (good for sliding into first).
- It is very difficult to brush one's teeth when There is a Kitten in the Bathroom Sink.
I am also pleased to report that she walked by the room where Robinson was confined behind a baby-gate without turning a hair and, in fact, she and Robinson spent some minutes gazing at each other about two feet apart. I was only just able to catch her before she launched herself over the gate into Robinson's waiting paws. I think this relationship may be going to work out.

Many years ago, I brought home a retired racing greyhound, Humbug, to be a new member of our family. Three of my cats were fine with dogs, and I'd been assured Humbug was fine with cats, so my only remaining worry was my youngest cat, Wizard. As we entered, Wizard came running toward us, saw the dog, and did the full bottle-brush tail and arched back. (It would have made a good Halloween picture, as he was a black cat with medium long hair.) Then he realized that that long skinny thing we'd just brought in with us was a dog. "A dog! I love dogs," he all but said and proceeded to wind himself around the greyhound's paws, purring wildly, while poor Humbug pranced in place, clearly saying, "Omg, it's a cat. I'm terrified of cats."
They became good friends, although Wizard had a tendency to forget himself when he was grooming poor Humbug's ears, and nip.
