Yes, I ogled this same thing over at io9.com! So surreal: a chastity-centred fantasy series with an immortal love interest written by a devout Mormon that's been turned into a movie franchise with a block buster following of tweens and teens who worship a mortal actor representing said immortal and both of whom, fictive and real, are old enough that it'd be against the law for most of their fans to legally date them, all synecdochized as a cold rubber sex toy which in itself contravenes one of the primary functions of sex according to mormonism by offering stimulation without possibility of reproduction, simulating the experience of bonking a Hollywood casting version of a fictive being who refuses to do this very thing, and would, in canon, be horrified at all this new-fangled debauched technology. How many layers of disconnect is that? I marvel.

But I must admit I've read the books and seen the movie. :)
