I woke up at 4:00 am and couldn't get back to sleep. Consequently, I feel that the day is somewhat handicapped already. I have Much To Do that requires Brain and no Brain to do it with.
Also, I have this irritating, nagging, cough lingering from the swinishness of last week. One day I feel okay, the next I am tired and coughy. I can't help worrying that one day 20 years of smoking is going to catch up with me...
Oh. It's Monday. No wonder.

And that swine flu was terrible.
But the "quit smoking" material that I read said that ten years after you quit, your risk of cancer drops almost to the level of people who never smoked. Not that anyone is ever immune, but if you really truly quit, the positive health effects are very dramatic.
OK, if you have read something else that is much more depressing, you can go ahead and post it and burst my bubble, but I hope you haven't.
Hope you feel better soon.

I just can't help thinking that having been exposed to a known carcinogen for so long can't be good... but we'll hope for the best!
